The small wiry man below Enya paused, tense, looking very much like a frightened rabbit. She grinned, showing pearly white incisors with slightly serrated edges. Unsheathing her long-sword, which made no sound due to the padding within the scabbard, Enya prepared to leap onto her unsuspecting quarry. The criminal yelped as the tall dracon landed in front of him, swiftly putting the red-tinted blade of her sword to his throat. "Game's up, and I win." she hissed, and he flinched away from her. After reliving him of his poisoned weapons, Enya bound him head to toe. To shorten the length of the journey back to the city, she transformed into her other form, a huge, flame-colored amphithere. Taking off into the sky, she warned the shivering prisoner, who dangled from Enya's mouth, that she would drop him if he tried anything funny. When she touched ground next to the city gates at the edge of the forest, Enya morphed back into her elf form to bring the prisoner to the city jail.

Hyde slowly walked toward the city gates. He was tired, it's been a long walk. He sighed, no animal to ride on... He needed one, now. He pushed his hand through his white hair. His blue eyes spied the dracon landing some feet in front of him. He pulled on his shirt, it was ripping at the sides, he needed a new shirt too. "UGH." he growled lightly, pushing his hand in his pocket and pulling out coins. He glanced again at the dracon before stopping, waiting for her to enter the city first.

Nodding to another traveler also entering the city, Enya roughly pushed the prisoner into the city. He grunted and glared at her, but said nothing. When she got beyond the gates she stopped, remembering that it was only her second time here, and having no idea how to get to the jail. Looking around for someone who knew the city, Enya saw the man at the city gates just entering the city. He looked like he traveled a lot, maybe he knew the way to the jail house. "Excuse me," she politely said, stepping up to him. "do you happen to know where the jail house is here?" If he didn't know, she'd probably have to ask a guard or someone.

Hyde looked from her to the soon-to-be prisoner. "Yeah, I do, I've been here a few times." He smiled, pointing to the right side of the city. "I'll take you there." Hyde smiled and rubbed the back of his neck, starting to walk. He glanced at the prisoner, "What did he do?" he asked.

Enya smiled thankfully. "Thank you, I've never managed to find my way through this city, it's like a maze...." Tugging on the prisoner's lead, she explained, "He's a murderer, killed.... how many was it?" she turned to the scowling captive. "Eleven." he grumbled. "Ah, yes. Eleven people by poisoning. The police suspected that he would go for the Royal family next, so they called me over." Then, remembering her manners, added "My name is Enya, what's yours?"

"Ah, nice, well I think many are grateful you were called. It looks like you've got it pretty much handled." He chuckled and looked at the prisoner. "Do I know you?" he frowned for a minute, not, he didn't... After a pause he looked back to her, "I'm Hyde." he bowed to her. "It's lovely to meet you, Enya."

Enya smiled at him. Politeness always got to her. "Nice to meet you also, Hyde. I would curtsy, but I rather detest skirts and dresses, they're very troublesome in my line of work." As she tried to memorize the twisting route they were taking, Enya noticed Hyde's rather elongated ears and sharp, catlike eyes. "So, are you a traveler, or do you live here?" Enya hoped she wasn't annoying him with her many questions, but she liked meeting people and most tended to stay away from her.

Hyde looked over her, watching her survey his appearance. He looked forward and turned them down another street, seeing the jail house a few blocks down. "A little of both, I've lived here before and I'm thinking about staying her for a while again. I will live in a certain place for maybe a few years at most then I'll move on to the next town." He glanced back over to her, "What about you? Are you just here to drop him off, or do you live here?" Hyde smiled.

"Well, I tend to keep to the desert down south, but I like coming up here to the forest. I don't often come into the city, only to drop off prisoners like this one." she gave the grimy man's rope another sharp tug as he began to edge away from her. "So after I put this one away, I'll drop by the inn to rest up and head back to the desert, or maybe the swamp areas near there. This fellow here," Enya motioned towards the sulking criminal, "gave me a lot of trouble. Took me nearly three days to catch him in the forest." she chuckled softly, and brushed a strand of red hair back from her eyes. "Have you ever been to the Vevil desert?" she inquired as they turned down another street.

Hyde chuckled at the man, he must be a sly one, she looked top-game. "Well, I've always wanted to visit it. He shrugged, "but the heat isn't too thrilling, you know?" he glanced over at her then slowed when they neared the front of the fail house. He opened the door for her, planning to follow her in, just in case the prisoner started something again. "How far is the desert from here?"

"Yes, the heat sometimes gets to me, but the wolves there stay away, they don't like dracon.... It's down south, about 70 or so miles from the town." Enya smiled warmly as Hyde opened the door for her, and stepped inside. The prisoner was now struggling wildly, trying to get away before he was thrown in jail, and probably hung. Enya's slim arms tensed, showing hidden bundles of muscles that now made her arms seem like a man's. Setting her jaw, Enya grunted as she dragged the flailing man into the room. "Sorry about that, happens every time." she explained to Hyde. Her face was clouded with sadness at the desperation in the prisoner's eyes, she never liked this part of her job, handing over people to be killed.

Hyde watched, little remorse. 'There are people out there...' His mind slowly wondered over his family and he yaked it away. "It's fine." He thought about the desert a little. "It's pretty close, isn't it?" Well, maybe to him, he didn't mind travelling that long. "Your pretty in shape." he commented, nodding his head once in approval. "You do this often?"

Enya handed the prisoner to the jail guard and accepted her payment, her eyes flickering to Hyde as a slightly sad look crossed his face. "Yes, it is quite close, I get homesick when I get a job away too far away from it." she thought of the rolling waves of sand, huge dunes forming in a matter of seconds, and the dry wind screaming over the landscape... she withdrew from her memories as Hyde commented on her fitness. Her cheeks reddened as she realized she had shown her man-like muscles. "Thank you, er... yeah, I do... and I took fencing for several years..." she started walking slowly towards the door, saddening slightly at the thought of having no company again. "Well, many thanks for all your help, I'm off to rest up. Maybe I'll run ito you again in this maze of a city." Enya chuckled and inclined her head, not wanting to bother him with directions to the inn.

"Fencing? Who taught you?" Hyde watched her, slowly walking along her side. He smirked as she waved him away, "I'd be happy to show you to the inn, I've got nothing better to do than buy a few supplies." he shrugged and glanced around, looking for a fitable clothing stand. "Becides, I've got to book myself a room also; as I said, I'll be staying for a bit." he pushed his hands into his worn pockets, surprised that no holes had eaten through thm yet.

"Well actually I've been instructed by many different people, whenever I find a master at sword fighting I stop in that place and learn some new footwork or moves. My first teacher was my family's old gardener, who was a war veteran and had fought in many battles. If I hadn't grown up in the desert my parents wouldn't have let me learn swordplay, but when I became good enough to beat my teacher they decided it was best for me to learn to defend myself. After I got into bounty hunting and began traveling there were many more excellent teachers who took me as a student. One teacher I could never come close to being as good as, and that was an old hermit in the mountains who called himself Soul, though he never told me his real name. Usually my teachers share all they know but if I asked that of Soul, I would still be up there, learning..." Enya stopped, belatedly realizing she had been rambling about her past. "And thank you for your help, I might stay longer than usual here also, as most of the time my jobs are located in very remote places. This city has a rather comfortable feel to it..." She smiled thoughtfully as Hyde began scanning the marketplace, supposedly looking for supplies. "Do you happen to know where I might find any more jobs here? I've been a bit short on jobs these days, but I think I would be more useful in more populated areas like the city."
