Little light shone to the forest floor because of the thickness of the canopy above. The lack of light hid the obvious movement of the giant, leafy creature that slithered around the thickets of brush and moss. He lifted his head and released a low, ground shaking growl. The greenery shook violently and the live forest pulled itself into a shell, hiding from the deathly loudness of the dragon.
The sound called to the forest’s protector, a young woman that seemed to be of her twenties, she had thick red hair that the wind managed to whip around and get tangled in the weeds and moss clinging to the damp trees. Her large, elf-like eyes shone brightly of green, laminating the shadows of the forest.
The dragon stepped forward again and matched his large muzzle to the woman’s hand and she extended it. Soft-elven words were spoken from her pink roan lips. The dragon’s large eyes closed and a small, cracked purr interrupted the now quiet surroundings. The sound itself caused flowers to blossom in happiness and baby leaved to open themselves to find skylight.
The young woman smiled, seeming very pleased with the now blooming forest around them and she turned away from the large beast, walking into a tree and disappearing, now asleep and peering over the forest in a defensive trance.
